Mungari Gold Project
Sedgman worked closely with our client La Mancha to engineer, procure and construct (EPC) this 1.5 Mt/a conventional carbon-in-leach (CIL) / carbon-in-pulp (CIP) gold processing plant in the first half of 2014 safely, on schedule, and within budget. The Mungari gold mine was subsequently acquired by Evolution Mining.
Sedgman had successfully delivered pre and definitive feasibility studies and front end engineering design (FEED) phases for the project. The plant is designed to process a blend of ores from the Frog’s Leg and White Foil mines to produce a gold doré product.
Efficient plant design has enabled a cost-effective gold processing solution while maintaining high levels of reliability, operability and maintainability. The proven CIL / CIP technology process plant, preceded by 3-stage crushing, fine ore bin, and ball mill comminution circuit with a complementary gravity concentrator circuit has provided immediate savings to the client operations.
Sedgman provided detailed process guarantees for the processing plant ensuring the final design met La Mancha Resources production needs.
The following outcomes were achieved:
- Sedgman ensured a highly efficient and cost-effective design
- Supported La Mancha’s rapid move into a high-revenue production phase
- Enabled a cost-smart solution while maintaining excellent reliability, operability and maintainability.
