Boseto Copper Project

Sedgman’s team of dedicated engineers delivered a benchmark copper flotation plant for Discovery Metals in remote conditions in Botswana.

Sedgman delivered a fast-tracked, low fixed cost solution which maximises the resource for our client. This required Front End Engineering Design (FEED) and metallurgical testing, followed by detailed engineering design, procurement and construction (EPC) and commissioning.

The plant processes 3 Mt/a of ore consisting of three-stage crushing, ball milling, separate oxide and sulphide mineral flotation, regrinding of sulphide rougher concentrate, concentrate thickening and filtration, tailings thickening and disposal, reagents mixing, site services and electrical distribution. We designed the water supply pumping system and supervised development and installation of the borefield.

Sedgman provided detailed process guarantees for the processing plant ensuring the final design met Discovery’s production needs.
