Blackwater Gold Project
Sedgman is delivering engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) work for the processing plant and associated infrastructure at the Blackwater Mine in British Columbia, Canada. Working with Artemis Gold and their First Nations partners towards the first gold pour in the second half of 2024, Sedgman is designing and constructing the processing and associated infrastructure for a 6 Mtpa processing facility.
The plant consists of a 3-stage dry crushing circuit, and a 14Mw single stage ball mill and gravity gold comminution circuit, combined with a traditional carbon in leach circuit processing 16,000 tonnes per day.
To deliver the project Sedgman will be sourcing equipment and co-ordinating delivery to the site in British Columbia. The remote location of the site and the local climate has introduced several technical and logistical challenges however through extensive planning and engagement with our client, the Sedgman team has robust plans to mitigate as construction progresses.
Upon completion of the planned future expansions this will be one of the largest gold processing plants in Canada while having one of the lowest carbon footprints for a large open pit gold mining/processing operation.
