Candaba 3rd Viaduct

Leighton Asia designed and constructed the third bridge of the Candaba Viaduct in the north of Manila, Philippines.

This P7.89-billion structure, completed by November 2024, entails the construction of a new bridge in the middle of the two existing viaducts. This increased road capacity of the entire Candaba Viaduct, from three lanes without shoulder to three lanes with inner and outer shoulders in each direction.

Green and sustainable engineering practices was used when building Candaba 3rd Viaduct and is compliant with the country’s latest bridge design requirements.

The works involved the development of the detailed engineering design and construction, with provision of future stitching to the replacement of the existing viaduct, that will eventually create a continuous two bound elevated roadway. This took off from the accepted Preliminary Engineering Design.
