CPB Contractors delivered the National Football Stadium in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea (PNG), in partnership with OilSearch.
The project involved the fast-tracked design and construction of a 15,000-seat NRL-accredited stadium, redeveloping the existing Lloyd Robson Oval to support PNG’s hosting of the Pacific Games and elevate its national sport – rugby league – to the international stage.
The project includes:
- A flexible design allowing future expansion to 25,000 seats
- International-standard, quick-draining, low-maintenance turf playing surface
- Air-conditioned corporate suites and enclosed corporate lounge with premium seating
- Open-air bar and media facilities
- Multi-purpose capability for football, volleyball, touch 7’s, and rugby league events
CPB Contractors completed the project ahead of schedule, following an intensive 12-week design initiation period. The team met all program milestones, delivering functionality, cost savings, and design improvements that maximized value for the client.
Construction was completed in 2017, with a total project value of $80 million.
