As part of the CIMIC Group Graduate Program, Development Days allow our graduates step beyond their daily tasks to continue to build their personal effectiveness skills, business knowledge and connections.
These state-based events brought together more than 200 graduates and undergraduates from across CIMIC Group projects and offices around the country for an enriching and collaborative experience, including:
- insight into their roles in building sustaining profitability as a Group
- achieving awareness of self and others through DISC Profiling. A tool that helps people understand their communication style, motivations, and how they work with others.
- understanding the key role trust and conflict have in high performing teams, and
- several team building activities that challenged their communication and collaboration.
The Graduates were then joined by various business leaders throughout the group for a networking lunch to strengthen their connections and gain valuable insights.
"The key lesson for me was the importance of trust and open communication in a team,” said Stanly Hor, UGL Graduate Civil Engineer. “The charades and pictionary activity were fun and reinforced teamwork."
"My biggest takeaway was understanding my DISC style and adapting my communication within a diverse team,” added Nathan Chapman, UGL Undergraduate Engineer. “Networking with other graduates was invaluable."
Through initiatives like development days, our graduate program continues to equip emerging talent with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to build rewarding careers. By combining structured training, hands-on project experience, and mentoring from industry leaders, we are shaping the next generation of professionals ready to contribute to iconic projects across Australia and beyond.
