UGL is proud to celebrate an incredible milestone for Son Chau, who is being awarded his 20-year Service Award in recognition of his dedication, and contributions to the team at UGL's Auburn workshop.
Son began his career at UGL as a Trade Assistant, where his strong work ethic and passion for growth quickly became evident. Son earned a Diploma of Electrical Engineering, which opened doors for him to progress to the role of Technician.
“I’ve stayed at UGL for 20 years because the work I get to do is always evolving and very diverse which keeps things interesting and engaging,” said Son.
Over the years, Son has gained extensive experience with a wide range of products and services offered by UGL’s manufacturing team. He has worked on numerous landmark projects across road, rail, and power infrastructure, including the M5, M8, Sydney Metro, Transgrid, and Warringah Freeway projects, just to name a few. Son’s ability to seamlessly transition between site-based projects and manufacturing operations has made him an invaluable member of the team.
Beyond his commitment to UGL, Son is a devoted family man who enjoys fishing and traveling with his family during his spare time — hobbies that reflect his balanced approach to life and work.
