It’s a rarity for someone to reach 45 years of service at a company, but for Jeff Peakman, he has done just that.
"I must say I have loved every moment of my 45 years working for this great company from the days at General Electric Company (GEC) to now at UGL,” said Jeff. “I have met and made many friends in my journey which has definitely been the highlight"
Joining GEC – which was acquired by UGL - as a trades assistant (T.A.), working on steel rolling mills, paper mills, and Defence projects for 13 years, Jeff has shown his versatility and grown his skillset.
After his time as a T.A., Jeff transitioned to managing the stores for the next 10 years, where his organisational and leadership skills shone. His expertise led him to the role of spares manager, which he held for 8 years, before moving into his current position as production coordinator, where he continues to play a vital role in operations.
"Jeff’s lived experience in this business is invaluable to its ongoing success. His knowledge related to some of the legacy products that we still manufacture is second to none,” said Operations Manager, Stuart Hosie.
Outside of work, Jeff has an impressive range of hobbies and interests. A talented tenpin bowler, Jeff has represented NSW at a national level, demonstrating the same dedication and skill he brings to his work. He’s also an avid golfer, squeezing in games whenever time permits.
A passionate fan of aviation, Jeff enjoys relaxing with his home flight simulator, where he combines his fascination for flying with his love for technology.
Thank you, Jeff, for your hard work, expertise, and passion throughout your amazing career!
