Reaching 40 years of service with one organisation is a remarkable achievement - and UGL's Corporate Services Accounts Team Lead, Louise Saward, has achieved this rare milestone.
Louise recalls joining UGL as a 17-year-old Junior Clerk. From writing cheques and taking taxis to the bank before earning her driver’s license, to backing up files on floppy disks, and now managing tasks with laptops and cloud technology, the evolution of work has been immense.
“Times have definitely changed, but the one thing that’s remained constant is the amazing people I get to work with every day,” Louise said.
Between Louise and her Mackay colleagues, Ada Nuis and Lynette Downer, they share more than 100 years of service. For Louise, UGL has become more than a career, it feels like family. “We know each other’s families, have seen each other grow, and are all really good friends. It’s truly the people that make this such a wonderful place to work,” she added.
Louise's connection to UGL runs deep. Her husband, Nick Saward, has been with the company for 35 years and the two met through work. Over the years, they've shared not only personal milestones but professional ones too.
Looking ahead, Louise plans to travel with Nick in their caravan, but until then, she remains dedicated to her role, continuing to contribute her experience and passion to UGL.
Congratulations Louise on this outstanding achievement!
