Our UGL manufacturing and maintenance leadership team from Bassendean and Bayswater helped plant more than 2,000 native trees along Perth’s Swan River bushland at Guildford, working alongside other volunteers to support local regeneration efforts.
This initiative is part of an ongoing regeneration program led by Trillion Trees Australia, an organisation that has been uniting people to restore landscapes across Western Australia since 1979. Their work focuses on ecological restoration, education, and community connection, with more than 15 million trees planted to date.
These planting projects play a vital role in combating salinity and soil erosion, improving biodiversity, and providing habitat for native species.
“The day was a great opportunity for our leadership team to work together for a great cause,” Michael Williams, UGL’s Senior Operations Manager, said.
“We learnt about the history of wetlands close to our sites, gained a deeper understanding of the role native planting plays in supporting wildlife, and saw firsthand how restoring bushland helps improve our environmental footprint.”
Our teams across Australia go out of their way to participate alongside the efforts of local organisation like Trillion Trees to contribute to their local communities as well as leaving a legacy by contributing to a more sustainable future in line with our priorities.
