Last month, UGL held its inaugural Environment and Sustainability Professionals Forum, bringing together UGL’s dedicated environmental and sustainability roles for the first time.
Supported by the UGL leadership team, the forum was aimed at enhancing non-environmental skills, like leadership, contractual understanding, and communication. These skills are essential for environmental professionals to excel and support effective risk management on all UGL’s work scopes.
The event featured insightful presentations from emerging UGL environmental leaders Amber Macdonald in our new energy team and Alexandra Coleman from our telecommunications team, who discussed best practices for project environmental risk management.
A big thanks to our panel of senior leaders:
- Ben Cooper, UGL General Manager New Energy and Resources
- Rob Teasdale UGL General Manager Defence
- Jessica Robertson, Manager, Legal
- Tracey Doczy CPB Group Manager, Environmental
The panel emphasised a call to action across three key points:
- Curiosity: Encouraging environmental professionals to engage with delivery teams to build strong working relationships.
- Bold communication: Advocating for proactive and frequent communication to address environmental risks.
- Team trust: Highlighting the importance of collaboration and relying on whole delivery team expertise to manage environmental risks.
This event highlighted UGL’s commitment to advancing environmental management as a critical component of business success.
