The 125 Year Anniversary Celebration Day at Broadmeadow in New South Wales was an event to remember, thanks to the leadership and dedication of UGL Production Delivery Manager, Clayton Smith and UGL Production Coordinator, Nicole Zeitsch. UGL has recognised their efforts by awarding them a Very Best Award for Culture. Tasked with leading the organisation of UGL's milestone celebration on the ground, the pair coordinated a site open day which welcomed more than 1,000 guests to the facility.
With a festive atmosphere complete with rides, a DJ, and a myriad of festival activities like face painting, the celebration became a memorable occasion. In keeping with UGL's commitment to safety, Clayton and Nicole ensured that all aspects, including the safe display of locomotives and trains, were managed. Their attention to detail and planning ensured the event ran smoothly, with the utmost regard for the safety of attendees.
The highlight was a handprint wall that shared why we go to work and encapsulated the spirit of UGL: the celebration of going home safely to our families.
