The UGL team, comprised of Jordan Pearce, Sam Rolland, and Paul Longford, delivered impressive results during the GLNG Curtis Island shutdown, showcasing dedication, expertise, and operational excellence.
The team has been recognised for their efforts, winning a Very Best Award for Delivery.
Key achievements included:
- No injuries or environmental incidents recorded, earning UGL praise from the client
- A high quality of work with the team managing more than 400 flange joints (components providing connections between pipes, valves and other equipment), ensuring leak-free operations during startup
- Satisfied with the outcomes, our client requested UGL’s support for future outages
- Coordinating 50 tonnes of material in and out
The shutdown was a mammoth task to conduct, with the planning stage taking 21 months, two months for execution, and two months of post-works. More than 100 people from various trades were involved in the shutdown, meeting the tight deadline for completion.
“The team worked well to ensure the smooth running of the shutdown,” says UGL Gladstone Area Manager, Shaun Petersen. “UGL effectively managed tight deadlines for offsite works, and offsite overhauls by utilising personnel aligned to UGL values, and maintaining daily communication, ensuring timely project completion.”
