At UGL, safety underpins everything we do, and we are proud of our employees who uphold our standards every day. Grade 6 Electrical Tradesperson, Mitch McSweeney has been awarded a UGL Very Best Award for Safety after taking action to manage a potential risk.
When a subcontractor was moving aluminium struts and fixings, Mitch spotted a potential risk of injury and stepped in to pause the work.
UGL QA/QC Lead, Brendan Thorburn, who nominated Mitch, said “Mitch's approach engaged the team, reinforced UGL’s Critical Risk Management guidelines, and further shared our commitment to a culture of safety. Looking out for each other and speaking up like this keeps our sites safe."
