UGL is excited to introduce our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Undergraduate Scholarship Program. This initiative is designed to support First Nations Australians in achieving their career aspirations. The program provides financial support and valuable work experience to students pursuing studies in the following fields:
- engineering (electrical and mechanical)
- commercial
- procurement
- legal
- environmental/sustainability
- health and safety
- finance
We are excited to congratulate Saffron Butler and Denzel Thorn, who have been selected as the first recipients of the undergraduate scholarship program. Saffron will be joining our new energy business, while Denzel will be part of our services team. Both will undertake a paid undergraduate program at UGL, providing them with hands on experience and professional development.
Upon completion of the scholarship, Saffron and Denzel will be considered for the CIMIC Group graduate program, opening doors to further career growth and opportunities within UGL and CIMIC Group.
At UGL, we are committed to making a positive impact on the lives of Australians every day. Our 2022-2025 Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) outlines our dedication to reconciliation. This scholarship program is a key step in furthering our support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, fostering diversity, and building meaningful pathways to employment.
We look forward to seeing Saffron and Denzel thrive in their studies and careers and congratulate them once again on this exciting achievement.
