UGL, a member of the CIMIC Group, has expanded its wireless telecommunications capability, signing a new contract with NBN Co to help deliver upgrades to nbn fixed wireless infrastructure across Australia.
UGL will deploy its skilled technicians nationally to support the nbn fixed wireless upgrade works, which aim to deliver faster and more reliable internet to homes and businesses across regional and rural Australia.
As part of the contract, UGL will survey, design, construct and install the necessary infrastructure and equipment across Australia.
UGL General Manager Telecommunications, Con Kourtis said: “UGL has been building its telecommunications capability in recent years, with strong growth in our regional and remote offering. We have an experienced team and a footprint which allows us to take on national contracts such as this one with nbn.”
UGL Managing Director, Doug Moss said: “UGL has been proudly servicing regional and remote Australia for decades and we’re pleased to play a part in helping connect communities. Australians, including regional Australians, are using more data than ever, and this project will help provide local residents, schools, businesses and critical services access to the national broadband network with higher speeds and a more secure connection. We look forward to working with nbn to connect more Australians over the course of this contract and beyond.”
