The nbn Fixed Wireless network, serving over 700,000 premises across Australia, is undergoing an upgrade to provide faster, more reliable internet with reduced congestion. This network, which operates using dedicated hybrid 4G/5G technology to transmit data via radio signals, is vital for regional and remote areas where premises are often far apart. The improvements will ensure more stable and efficient connectivity for homes and businesses.
This year, our UGL team has successfully upgraded over 40 sites, and we are set to complete our 50th upgrade this month. This supports enhanced quality of service for customers in remote areas, improving their access to the digital world through the nbn network.
"The nbn Fixed Wireless project is fast-paced and plays a crucial role in shaping the future of regional Australia. We are proud of our contribution to improving internet services for people in remote areas." Emil Ateya, UGL Head of Wireless.
Under our contract with NBN Co, UGL has expanded its wireless telecommunications capability to support the nationwide upgrade of the nbn Fixed Wireless infrastructure, with our skilled technicians working across the country to ensure the project's success. As part of this effort, UGL is responsible for surveying, designing, constructing, and installing the necessary infrastructure and equipment, helping to deliver faster speeds and more reliable service to the many communities that rely on the nbn Fixed Wireless network.
