Brisbane’s Cross River Rail is making significant strides at Albert Street. UGL is a proud part of the CBGU D&C Joint Venture delivering the station. The jump form system is playing a crucial role in construction, having completed 75% of the station walls within the Albert Street main station entrance (Lot 1). The station building will span a remarkable 37 meters vertically from Basement Level 9 to Ground Level. The jump form system will ultimately be used to build 90% of the station’s internal and external walls.
Additionally, the team at Albert Street station’s Lot 1 has successfully demobilised and removed six retention props from the site. These props, comprising 18 individual pieces and weighing a total of 420 tonnes, were initially used to brace the station building’s perimeter walls underground. This development opens these areas to mechanical and electrical trades, signifying the structural completion of the main station back of house below-ground sections.
UGL is delivering the Cross River Rail - Tunnel, Stations and Development (TSD) Package with fellow CIMIC Group companies, Pacific Partnerships and CPB Contractors. UGL will be responsible for the TSD Facilities Management services when TSD operations start. Our design and construction partners in the CBGU D&C JV are CPB Contractors, BAM and Ghella and our collective efforts are driving forward one of Brisbane’s most significant infrastructure projects, promising enhanced transportation and connectivity for the city.
