UGL’s rail and technology systems team members are improving efficiency on-site and paving the way for the future with the SAP Field Service Management (FSM) tool.
The FSM tool is an end-to-end information gathering tool that can send, store and receive site documentation, easily accessible for our site teams and managers on their mobile phone or tablet devices.
Nicholas Tsiotinos, UGL Planning & Controls Manager said, "The tool was significantly customised for our use and it eliminates one of the biggest factors we face in construction and installation projects – time.
"Our site teams receive a notification on their device telling them what activities they’re doing today. Then they can create a site diary and fill out an inspection and test checklist. This information is saved into the FSM database, interfacing directly with our SAP system."
The tool has been utilised by the project team since September 2021 and has helped to speed up the way we do timesheets and disperse information to site, such as SWMS and other work installation processes.
