With Christmas just around the corner, members of the Sedgman Business Support and Legal teams volunteered their time to give back by packing meals at FareShare’s Brisbane kitchen to improve the lives of Australians in hardship.
For more than 20 years FareShare has been cooking free, nutritious meals for people doing it tough.
On average each Australian wastes 102kg of food every year while many in our communities still experience food insecurity. FareShare tackles this head on by rescuing surplus food from supermarkets and farmers that would otherwise go to waste.
FareShare use the rescued food to create healthy meals that are given away free to front line charities such as soup vans, homeless shelters, women’s refuges, and community food banks.
These Sedgman team members packed an impressive 1318 meals ready for distribution to those in need. Great job team!
Sedgman is committed to giving back to the communities in which we live and work and recognises the value of volunteering to give back and make a positive impact in these communities.
