Sedgman has been awarded a contract at the Jellinbah Mine in Central Queensland, continuing its long-standing relationship with Jellinbah Group.
The engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract will deliver an upgraded coal handling and processing plant.
Sedgman commenced the feasibility study for the plant upgrade in February this year continuing into front-end engineering design phases and an EPC offer provided to Jellinbah in June. Throughout the development of the project Sedgman maintained a close working relationship with the Jellinbah team, adding value to the project through technical leadership and authentic collaboration.
Sedgman has a long history of working with the Jellinbah Group which also owns the Lake Vermont Mine where Sedgman has successfully delivered several major projects.
The expansion of the processing plant will increase its capacity from 285t/h to 500t/h.
Detailed engineering and procurement are now underway. The project team will mobilise to site in March 2021 to complete the installation with commissioning towards the end of the year.
