Leighton Asia nurtures tomorrow’s builders through a Graduate Program that offers technical training, hands-on project experience and a workplace focused on growth.
A standout feature of the program is the international placement opportunity, where Graduates are deployed across different business units in Asia. These placements expose them to diverse working environments and provide international experience, while they develop technical expertise in critical project teams and gain insights across various departments.
Rabiatul Adilah Rusman from our Malaysia team, successfully completed her deployment with the OneDCS - Digital Engineering and Transformation team in the Philippines. She has worked on our data centre project in Malaysia, gaining experience in the Operations and Commercial teams, and is now contributing to the Planning department.
What made you say yes to the Leighton Asia Graduate Program?
I said yes to the Leighton Asia Graduate Program because it offers an exciting platform for continuous learning and exposure across different departments. It aligns with my goal of becoming a well-rounded construction professional.
What stood out to me even more was Leighton Asia’s commitment to diversity through initiatives like the Women in Construction and Engineering (WOICE) Group. It showed the company not only values technical growth but also actively supports gender inclusivity in the industry, which personally resonated with me as a woman in construction.
How is your experience so far?
At the beginning, adapting to the fast-paced and dynamic environment of the construction industry was challenging. However, it pushed me to become more resilient, proactive and open to continuous learning. Through hands-on experience and strong support from the team, I gradually built confidence in understanding complex concepts and project workflows.
The exchange program became a valuable turning point. It allowed me to experience a new culture, adapt to different working styles and collaborate with professionals across various nationalities, disciplines and technical backgrounds.
It also introduced me to the world of digital engineering and digital transformation, opening new knowledge and sparking a genuine interest in this field.
Overall, the program enriched my career journey by broadening my perspective on how diverse teams, ideas and approaches come together to deliver complex construction projects.
