Liantang / Heung Yuen Wai project wins Outstanding Infrastructure Project Award

Leighton Asia was proud to receive the ‘Outstanding Infrastructure Project Award’ recently at the Build4Asia Awards 2022 Presentation Ceremony for the Liantang / Heung Yuen Wai Boundary Control Point project in Hong Kong.

Build4Asia Awards recognise projects’ excellence in sustainability in terms of green designs and contractors’ environmental practices.

Build4Asia Award

About the winning project:

 About Liantang

Key green elements of the project include:

  • Low-E glass, adopted to allow natural lights pass through, saving daytime light usage.
  • The adoption of green roofing on multiple buildings to mitigate heat gain from sunlight to reduce energy consumption for cooling.
  • Natural ventilation through the incorporation of unobstructed air flows, high floor-ceiling heights, inclined roofing and extensive sun-shading. This reduces forced ventilation and cooling requirements.
  • Power savings by using air-quality controlled ventilation systems within the public transport interchange.

The award is a collaborative effort from all parties involved in the delivery of this project. Thank you and congratulations to the project team on this great result.
