CPB Contractors was proud to sponsor and participate in the Queensland University of Technology’s (QUT) Women in Engineering and Construction Awards 2026, recognising outstanding female students and awarding bursaries that will help support the next generation of engineering and construction professionals.
The event brought together students, industry leaders and university partners to celebrate achievements while reinforcing the importance of building a diverse, resilient and highly skilled workforce for the future. As Queensland enters one of the largest infrastructure delivery periods in its history, attracting and developing talented women remains critical to both CPB Contractors and the broader construction and engineering sector.
Our Queensland & PNG General Manager, Vince Sanfilippo, delivered the keynote address, highlighting the opportunities ahead for emerging professionals and the value of greater diversity across the industry.
"To solve the increasingly complex challenges facing Australia, we need diverse perspectives, diverse experiences and diverse ways of thinking. The best teams are diverse teams," Vince said.
Vince also spoke about CPB Contractors' commitment to creating pathways for women to thrive in engineering and construction, from university partnerships and undergraduate opportunities through to graduate development and professional registration programs.
Design Engineer, Anastasia Little, who is currently working on the Townsville Correctional Precinct expansion, also joined fellow industry leaders on a panel, sharing insights on career development, leadership and the opportunities available to women across the sector.
Through partnerships with universities such as QUT and initiatives that support attraction, retention and development, CPB Contractors remains committed to helping build a stronger, more inclusive workforce that will deliver the infrastructure our communities rely on for generations to come.
