Following award of the design and pre-construction contract in 2025, our teams are now commencing design and construction for the major rail works package of the $5.75 billion Logan and Gold Coast Faster Rail (LGC) project.
Jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland governments, the LGC project will connect growing communities with more frequent and reliable train services between Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
CPB Contractors Executive General Manager QLD, WA, SA & NT Glenn McIlroy said, “CPB Contractors has a long history of delivering complex rail and transport projects in Queensland. As the State prepares for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, we’re proud to be laying the tracks to deliver increased rail network capacity, improved train service reliability and reduced end to end journey times.”
This milestone is made possible through strong collaboration across the ActivUs Alliance partners, including CPB Contractors, UGL, Acciona, SMEC and WSP, and with the Department of Transport and Main Roads and Queensland Rail.
UGL Executive General Manager Projects, Mick McCann said, “UGL is a respected leader in the transport sector, delivering and integrating innovative technology to ensure reliability and safety. We’re bringing our in-house engineering expertise in mechanical and electrical to deliver the Logan and Gold Coast Faster Rail project with our Alliance partners.”
The Logan and Gold Coast Faster Rail project will unlock additional train services to meet the growing travel demand between Brisbane and the Gold Coast, Australia’s third and sixth largest cities.
Excited to be part of this transformative transport project for Southeast Queensland!
