CPB Contractors was honoured with the Corporate Member of the Year Award at Supply Nation's prestigious 2025 Supplier Diversity Awards. This recognition highlights CPB Contractors’ unwavering commitment to supplier diversity and our leadership in driving economic empowerment for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses.
For more than 90 years, CPB Contractors has been at the forefront of delivering Australia’s transformational infrastructure projects. As a founding member of Supply Nation, we have embedded supplier diversity into our operations, ensuring Indigenous businesses are integral to our supply chain. Between 2023 and 2024, CPB Contractors collaborated with 172 Indigenous suppliers, with procurement spend in this area exceeding $117 million in 2024. This contributed an incredible 2.8% of Supply Nation’s record $4.1 billion in contracts verified with Indigenous suppliers.
Key initiatives like CPB Contractors’ industry-leading Aboriginal Business and Social Enterprise (ABSE) Database and the ABSE Playbook have transformed the way we connect with Indigenous suppliers, streamlining engagement and fostering long-term partnerships. Through these tools and regular supplier forums, we have created significant opportunities for Indigenous businesses to thrive in Australia's construction and infrastructure sectors.
Aligned with our Reconciliation Action Plan, CPB Contractors remains committed to building a more inclusive industry by setting ambitious procurement targets and empowering Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
CPB Contractors Group Manager for Indigenous and Social Inclusion, Sharon Gray said, “As our country’s leading contractor, we are committed to supporting Indigenous-owned businesses. We recognise the influence and impact these businesses can have on employment, community engagement, building capacity, and supporting progress and productivity in the regions in which we work. We are incredibly proud of our partnership with Supply Nation."
