To support team members juggling work and family commitments, CPB Contractors, as part of the project team delivering the Sydney Metro West — Eastern Tunnelling Package (ETP), recently rolled out an in-office school holiday program.
Recognising the competing priorities working parents face during the school holiday period, the ETP project enlisted a local company to provide on-site childcare for children aged 5 to 12.
20 young ones took part in the fully-funded, two-week program, with attendees enjoying a range of learning fundamentals with themed activities, including Happy Campers, Paris Olympics, and exploring the amazon over these days.
CPB Contractors Finance and Admin Manager Rosina Ward emphasised the school holiday program's positive impact on the project’s office-based team.
“This initiative was designed to give our team unique flexibility, making more in-person interactions possible. Work is ramping up across the project, and this was a win for productivity," adds Rosina.
Resoundingly positive feedback was received from participating parents, carers and children.
“Having my children on-site while I worked was a game-changer,” said a team member. “It eliminated the stress of childcare arrangements and allowed me to focus on my role.”
Another parent from the project team added: “The program was a lifesaver for our family. It provided a safe and stimulating environment for our son, allowing us to balance work and family commitments effectively.”
