The Queensland Government's new Bundaberg Hospital project has reached a noteworthy milestone, with CPB Contractors’ project team commencing its final design phase. This important planning stage will refine the new hospital’s blueprint and include consultation with key stakeholders.
This final phase will delve into the ‘nuts and bolts’ of the hospital’s design and cover everything from developing a complete list of technology, furniture, fixtures, and equipment, to determining the best location for each power point in the facility.
The project team will also consult with over 100 Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service staff and consumers to capture their lived experiences and help shape the final design of the new hospital.
CPB Contractors Project Director Stephen Jenkins explains that earlier planning stages, including the schematic design phase, will enable the ongoing success of the hospital’s construction.
“Our project team optimised room positioning to enable seamless patient and staff flow during the schematic design phase, which will set us up for success during this phase and beyond”, adds Stephen.
CPB Contractors is leading the design phase of the Bundaberg Hospital project, which involves the design of a new multi-storey hospital for acute, medical, surgical and mental health services, as well as emergency, clinical support services and associated infrastructure.
