CPB Contractors continues to embrace sustainable innovations with the launch of its first zero-emission and self-sufficient mobile site office – EcoPro Site Facilities. Designed in-house by its NSW/ACT Plant Facility team to meet the demands of large-scale projects, this 100% sustainable solution is easily transportable and ideal for use on transmission projects, wind farms, battery storage facilities, as well as metropolitan road, rail, health or building projects.
Jason Spears CPB Contractors Managing Director emphasised the transformative potential of this new asset, not only for CPB Contractors but also for the entire industry.
“The size and scale of our projects puts us in a unique position to create positive outcomes in sustainability, and this is a responsibility we take very seriously. Our people are driven to innovate, to seek new solutions and ways to deliver our projects more efficiently and with better outcomes for the communities and the environments in which we work.”
CPB Contractors Plants and Assets Manager Wade Rogan explained that extensive consultation and collaboration with project and environment teams ensured the EcoPro Site Facility's adaptability to diverse project requirements and challenging weather conditions.
“Project teams often work in high-pressure environments with limited resources and defined timelines and budgets. We focused on every detail in developing a sustainable off-grid site facility that can be widely used across our industry.”
“Our team are really proud to have developed and designed this asset, which is the first truly sustainable and self-sufficient product of its kind in the market. Our plan is to commence rolling out this new asset across future CPB Contractors projects and worksites,” adds Wade
The EcoPro Site Facility sets a new benchmark for mobile offices, housed in a repurposed shipping container, it features an oversized 5.55kW solar system, 24.6kW battery, and an 8kW inverter. Its sustainable design eliminates the need for backup generators, providing reliable and renewable electricity, and its rainwater tank captures up to 24,000 litres of drinkable water annually
To enhance energy efficiency and long-term sustainability, the office incorporates high-efficiency appliances, sensor-activated lighting and climate control, tinted windows, thermal insulation, and remote monitoring systems.
After undergoing comprehensive testing, the off-grid prototype will shortly be deployed to its first project in Sydney.
As one of Australia’s leading contractors with projects across regional and metropolitan areas, CPB Contractors is on a decarbonisation journey and committed to helping drive sustainable change across the industry.
