CPB Contractors has connected the Sydney Metro City & Southwest Line-wide Works project to the existing Metro North West Line.
The joining of the two metro lines follows CPB Contractor’s and sister company UGL Limited’s completion of all track construction and the installation of 31 kilometres of overhead wiring along the alignment.
The Sydney Metro City & Southwest Line-wide Works project includes the mechanical and electrical fit-out of 31 kilometres of tunnels and seven underground metro stations at Crows Nest, Victoria Cross, Barangaroo, Martin Place, Pitt Street, Central and Waterloo.
As part of a consortium, CPB Contractors also delivered the construction of the twin 15 kilometre tunnels of the Metro North West Line, in 2016. CPB Contractors and UGL, both members of the CIMIC Group, are delivering the Line-wide Works for the Sydney Metro City & Southwest project, while CIMIC's Pacific Partnerships and UGL will operate and maintain the metro railway from Rouse Hill to Bankstown once operational as part of the Northwest Rapid Transit Consortium (NRT).
