The Bruce Highway Cooroy to Curra Section D – Contract 2 team recently cemented its commitment to, and respect for, the Kabi Kabi Traditional Owners, as well as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and heritage, with the unveiling of the latest CPB Contractors Acknowledgment Plaque at the project’s Gympie site.
Kabi Kabi First Nation Traditional Owner Uncle Michael Douglas performed a Welcome to Country, and guest speakers Joey Wallace, Managing Director, Multhana Property Services and Amma Reed, Supervisor, Multhana Property Services shared their stories about working in construction and on Country.
The event coincided with National Close the Gap Day, which focused on acknowledging the ongoing strength and resilience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples in sustaining the world’s oldest living cultures.
