CPB Contractors is using locally sourced hybrid fleets on two Major Road Projects Victoria sites - the M80 Upgrade between Sydney Road and Edgars Road and the Monash Freeway Upgrade – Stage 2.
Using sustainable site vehicles is a practical way for the project to reduce its carbon footprint and practice sustainable construction.
Local Indigenous business Bunji Hire is supplying its fleet of electric vehicles to both the M80 and Monash Freeway Upgrades.
Founder of Bunji Hire, Dean Rioli, says he started the company because there was a gap in the market for an Indigenous business to supply equipment and fleet to Victoria’s largest infrastructure projects.
“Early on in the start-up phase, we faced challenges around capability and capacity… we are grateful that CPB Contractors supported our business and hired equipment from us,” said Dean.
“They believed we would deliver a quality service. This gave me the confidence that the business would kick goals across a number of projects, and we are now able to supply other top tier clients purely because we have a track record on several CPB Contractors projects.”
Bunji Hire is now working across multiple CPB Contractors’ projects, including the Rail Systems Alliance, M80 Upgrade – Sydney Road to Edgars Road, Monash Freeway Upgrade - Stage 2 and Port Wakefield to Port Augusta.
“Looking to the future, we want to supply environmentally friendly products on our infrastructure projects to help reduce the carbon footprint,” added Dean.
