Red Mountain Operations

Sedgman assisted the Red Mountain Infrastructure Joint Venture through the coal handling and preparation plant (CHPP) commissioning process, implementing rectification and optimisation activities in 2006 to achieve the designed 1,000 t/h facility throughput and continued on to operate this facility conducting multiple improvement projects.

Sedgman operated the CHPP following construction from 2007 until 2017 conducting multiple debottlenecking and improvement projects. Annual production from the facility exceeded 8.1 million feed tonnes. Sedgman initiated the first full scale trial testing of the reflux classifier technology in a production environment at this plant in 2010. The facility has achieved in excess of 8,000 run hours per annum at full nameplate capacity.
