Delivering a vibrant commercial destination for the region
Following a highly competitive tender process, Broad was selected by Dexus Property Group to redevelop the Tweed City Shopping Centre, located at Tweed Heads South near the border of Queensland and New South Wales.
Works commenced in early September 2015 and involved alterations and additions to the existing shopping centre to accommodate a new Entertainment Leisure Precinct and a new extension.
The design and construct development has resulted in an increased floor area of 3,000 sqm for the centre, including new outdoor areas, a children’s playground, expanded loading docks and car parking.
Throughout the duration of the project, the existing day-to-day operation of the shopping centre continued. Drawing on our experience of working in live environments, the project team worked hard to ensure disruption was kept to a minimum for existing retailers, the public and adjoining properties during construction.
Practical completion was officially awarded in September 2016.
