Congratulations to our Thiess teams at the MSJ, Sangatta and Wahana coal mine projects who have been recently recognised by the Indonesian government for outstanding mining and safety performance.

The Indonesian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources annual Good Mining Practise Awards recognise excellence in mining across technical, safety, environmental management, mineral and coal conservation management, standardisation management and mineral and coal mining services.

Our Sangatta team was awarded a silver certificate and our Wahana team was awarded a bronze certificate in the Mining Services Business – Overburden Removal category, while our team at Sangatta was also recognised with a bronze certificate in the Mining Services Business – Truck Hauling category.

The Thiess team at MSJ received the Zero Accident Award from the Indonesian Ministry of Manpower for their achievements in managing Occupational Health and Safety. The award resognises the team’s safety focus on ensuring everyone safe everyday and achieving more than 9.3 million manhours LTI (Lost Time Injury) free from October 2017 through to December 2020.
