CIMIC Group has been recognised for corporate sustainability excellence, for a second consecutive year, by international capital and commodity market analyst S&P Global.

Our inclusion in S&P Global’s Sustainability Yearbook 2022 benchmarks our environment, social and governance (ESG) performance as being within the top 15% of our industry. 

The Yearbook showcases the best performing companies, among industry peers, rated on financially material environmental, social and governance (ESG) metrics. 

In order to be listed in the Yearbook, companies must score within the top 15% of their industry and must achieve an S&P Global ESG Score within 30% of their industry’s top-performing company.

Some of our ESG highlights from 2021 included CPB Contractors’ M80 Upgrade project joining the Engagement for Plastic-Free Innovation Change program, and Leighton Asia’s Columbarium and Garden of Remembrance project achieving the Hong Kong Green Building Council’s highest award. 

Our UGL Renewables team supported delivery of the ground-breaking 300MW/450MWh Victorian Big Battery Project.

Sedgman was awarded a contract to improve environmental performance in the design and construction of a tailings dewatering facility at the Byerwen Mine.  

Pacific Partnerships, with CPB Contractors and Ventia1, was awarded the North East Link PPP which will create jobs for local people and, when complete, alleviate congestion on local roads – improving the connectivity of Melbourne’s growing communities.

EIC Activities continues its partnership with Smart Pavements Australia Research Collaboration to advance transport pavement innovations.
