When you find a position you are interested in, please ensure you have viewed the full advertisement before applying. This advertisement will list vital information about the position.
All applications are submitted and managed through our confidential, online recruitment system. It should take you no more than 10 minutes to submit your application, which should include a covering letter, an up-to-date CV/ resumé and any relevant certificates.

Once you have submitted your application, you will receive an automated response direct to your email address confirming receipt of your application.

While the recruitment process can vary across our company, the standard process for the majority will flow as follows:

Upon your application being suited to the job position you have applied for, someone from our talent community will reach out to you to discover your skills and experience further whilst also providing you an overview of our business and the position for which you have applied.

Following your initial discussion with us, if you both feel the position is a match, your resume will be shortlisted and passed on to the hiring manager recruiting for the role for further review.

Following a successful review from our hiring managers, you'll be invited for an interview to meet with our team to discuss your skills and experience in more detail and provide you the opportunity to learn more about the team you have applied for and ask any questions you may have. This will be done either in person, via telephone or by video conference, dependent on your location.

During the recruitment process we may require you to participate in some of the below key elements:

  • online application
  • telephone interview
  • behavioural interviews
  • psychometric testing
  • site visit (where applicable)
  • reference checks
  • medical checks
  • background checks (police check).

If you are successful in your final interview, you will be asked to participate in completing a pre-employment medical which aims to:

  • ensure you are fit to undertake the expectations of the role safely and won't put yourself or others at risk of illness or injury
  • establish your general health so that we can monitor you and identify any pre-existing medical conditions

UGL covers all costs associated with the pre-employment medicals.

On occasions, we use psychometric assessments for leadership and specialised roles. The recruiter looking after you during the process will inform you if this applies.
Before an offer is extended, two professional verbal referees will be contacted. Please ensure that you have spoken with your referees and asked their permission before you provide their details to us. You will be notified before we contact anyone to ensure we have your consent.

It may take us up to two weeks to review your application. At UGL, we don’t rush this step. It’s important that we make sure we select candidates who are right for our company and right for the role.

You can also track your application at any time by logging in using your username and password.

Once you have successfully completed the UGL selection process, your recruiter will contact you to extend a verbal offer of employment. Following this, we will then send you a written employment contract.

Our recruitment team is able to answer any questions you may have throughout the process.
