    He has worked in Europe, North America and South America across transportation and social infrastructure projects. He was formerly Head of Mergers and Acquisitions at HOCHTIEF Group based in Germany. HOCHTIEF is a major PPP developer and manager in Europe and North America.

    Prior to that he was Asset Management Director of Iridium, an ACS Group company and leading global PPP developer and manager. Martin has a background in investment banking and private equity.

    During 20 years with CIMIC Group, Grant has held a number of senior management positions including EIC Activities General Manager, Thiess Sedgman Joint Venture Manager and most recently Thiess General Manager.


    Grant’s previous experience includes 18 years with Thiess where he was responsible for the delivery of engineering, procurement and construction projects. Grant has engineering and construction experience in the resources and energy industry, working on oil and gas and minerals processing projects globally. He has delivered major projects and demonstrated skills in strategy, business development, tendering and project delivery.

    With more than 25 years in management positions in the infrastructure industry, Doug has a wealth of expertise in construction and operations and maintenance as well as extensive knowledge across the telecommunications, transport, water, property, power, industrial and resources sectors throughout Australia.

     

    Prior to his role as Managing Director of Lendlease Services, Doug held senior roles in the Thiess Services business for over 20 years, successfully growing the utilities, telecommunications, transportation and remediation businesses, and moving Thiess into long term operations and maintenance contracts in water, transport and hospitals through a number of major Private Public Partnerships.

    Geoff has over 35 years consulting design and construction experience across the building, civil infrastructure, rail, marine and energy and resources sectors in Australia and South East Asia.

     

    Geoff was previously Manager, Engineering Services – Specialist Engineering with John Holland. Prior to that Geoff was Project Director and Principal Structural Engineer, GHD.
    Geoff is a Chartered Professional Engineer (Civil and Structural), a Member of Engineers Australia and a Registered Professional Engineer, Queensland.

    Jason has 25 years’ experience working in Australia and internationally as a professional engineer and business leader in the resource, civil infrastructure and building sectors. 

     

    Jason, who joined CIMIC Group in 1999, was previously Executive General Manager, Major Projects and NSW at CPB Contractors. Prior to that he held roles at Thiess.

    He has led successful outcomes on major projects and demonstrated exceptional leadership and management skills across all phases of strategy, business development, tendering and project delivery. His strong focus on safety and disciplined project controls has resulted in project certainty and value for money outcomes for clients, as well as business growth and improved profitability for the company.

  • Douglas Thompson

    Mining and Mineral Processing Executive and Thiess Managing Director, BSc Hon, MEng (Civil) 
    Appointed as CIMIC Group's Mining and Mineral Processing Executive and Thiess Managing Director in August 2017. Douglas is responsible for leading Thiess and Sedgman.

    He was formerly Executive General Manager Queensland, Papua New Guinea and New Zealand at CPB Contractors. Prior to that he was Executive General Manager of Australia and Pacific operations at Thiess.
     
    Douglas has more than 20 years’ experience in coal and metalliferous mining operations globally. He has a strong industry reputation for driving operational excellence and developing greater in-house capability to deliver more value to clients. 


    He has held senior positions on major Australian and international mine sites, giving him an in-depth understanding of all facets of operational management, including significant mine expansions and upgrades.
     
    He holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mining) with Honours and a National Higher Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, and has completed an International Executive Development Program with the University of Cambridge and the University of Witwatersrand.
  • Michael Wright

    Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director from 1 December 2017 to 4 February 2020. Michael is a highly regarded leader with experience across multidisciplinary projects in Australia, Asia, Africa and the Americas.

    With more than 25 years' experience across the mining, construction and services sectors, and over 20 years with the CIMIC Group, he has held senior executive positions, including Deputy CEO of CIMIC. Prior to that, Michael held the position of Thiess Managing Director, as well as the role of Group Executive Mining and Mineral Processing for CIMIC, with oversight of both Thiess and Sedgman.
     
    Prior roles included Executive General Manager of Thiess’ Australian Mining business and Thiess’ Services business, General Manager of Leighton Asia’s China and Mongolia operations, and General Manager of Silcar, a joint venture between Thiess and Siemens. Michael has a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) from the University of Sydney and a Master of Engineering Science from the University of New South Wales.
     
    Michael serves as a Director of the Minerals Council of Australia and is a Fellow of the Institute of Engineers Australia.
