CIMIC Group (CIMIC) is pleased to announce the promotion of Pedro Vicente to CIMIC Chief Executive Officer, from Executive General Manager Operations, effective immediately.
Juan Santamaria, currently Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of CIMIC, will continue to serve as Executive Chairman. He has also accepted a position as Chief Executive Officer of Actividades de Construcción y Servicios, SA (ACS). ACS is the largest shareholder in HOCHTIEF, which is currently completing its 100% acquisition of CIMIC.
Mr Santamaria said: “An experienced executive leader with a deep understanding of the infrastructure, services and resources sectors, Pedro will ensure CIMIC continues to be a trusted partner to our clients and communities.
“Pedro has strong knowledge of our business and more than 25 years of international experience in the contracting industry. He has direct experience in our Australian and Asian operations, and formerly led Dragados Australia and Leighton Asia.
“I am confident CIMIC will continue its positive momentum – delivering important projects for Australian communities, employing locals, and contributing to national prosperity – under Pedro’s direction.”

Appointed as Chief Executive Officer in May 2022. Pedro was formerly CIMIC Group Executive General Manager Operations.
Pedro has more than 25 years of international experience in the delivery of major construction, services and resources projects, including managing Dragados Australia and Leighton Asia.
He joined Leighton Asia in 2015 as Executive General Manager South East Asia and India, and became responsible for all of Leighton Asia in 2016.
Prior to Leighton Asia, Pedro held key management roles with international construction company, ACS Group, and its subsidiaries. His roles included Dragados S.A. Area Manager and Director; Dragados Canada as Executive Vice President; and Dragados Australia as Executive Director.
Pedro holds a Master of Civil Engineering from the Universidad Politecnica de Madrid, Spain and is a member of the Spanish Association of Civil Engineers.
